Our Team
Lauren Watson, LPC, LMHC
Lauren is a licensed psychotherapist in Virginia and North Carolina who specializes in working with children, teens, and families. With over a decade of experience in hospitals, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice, she brings a thoughtful, down-to-earth approach to helping kids and their families through tough times. Whether the challenge is anxiety, emotional outbursts, low mood, self-injury, or trouble getting along with others, Lauren meets each client where they are—with care, creativity, and a deep respect for their unique strengths.
She has a special passion for working with gifted and twice-exceptional kids, as well as those who are neurodivergent. Lauren helps families better understand how changes in the environment, flexible goals, and the right support can reduce day-to-day friction and build confidence. Her aim is to help young people feel more comfortable in their own skin as they navigate the messiness of growing up.
Lauren’s approach is holistic and collaborative. She often works closely with physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, and she partners with schools and universities to problem-solve around roadblocks to academic or social success. She believes that healing happens best when everyone is on the same page—and when kids feel seen, understood, and respected as whole people.
