Insurance & Out-of-Network Information

At Westhampton Counseling Group, we do not work directly with insurance companies or third-party payers. This means our clinicians are considered Out-of-Network providers — and this is an intentional choice rooted in our commitment to the highest quality of care.

We know that for many families, especially those who value a deeply personalized, thoughtful approach, the benefits of not using insurance are significant:

  • True privacy and confidentiality

When insurance is involved, personal details about your child’s treatment and diagnosis must often be shared to justify care. By choosing not to involve insurance, your family’s information remains solely between you and your clinician — ensuring maximum privacy and trust.

  • Freedom to choose the right therapist

You aren’t limited by a network list or dictated by which providers are “covered.” You can select a therapist who truly fits your family’s personality, values, and needs — including specialized expertise that may not be available within insurance networks.

  • Customized, flexible care — without restrictions

Insurance companies often set limits on the number of sessions, the type of therapy allowed, or require certain diagnoses to approve care. At Westhampton Counseling Group, your child’s treatment plan is shaped entirely by what is best for them — not by policy requirements. We move at a pace that feels right and can adjust as needs evolve.

Can I still use my insurance benefits?

While many families choose not to submit claims at all to preserve privacy, some insurance plans do offer Out-of-Network reimbursement for mental health services.

To find out if this applies to you:

Check your insurance policy’s Summary of Benefits for Out-of-Network coverage.

Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask:

  • Do I have Out-of-Network benefits for outpatient behavioral health?

  • What is my Out-of-Network deductible, and how much has been met this year?

  • What percentage of each session will be reimbursed once the deductible is met?

  • What are the reimbursement rates for the following services:

    • Initial therapy evaluation (CPT Code 90791)

    • Ongoing therapy sessions (CPT Code 90837)

    • Initial medication evaluation (CPT Code 90792)

    • Medication management follow-up visits (CPT Code 99213 or 99214, sometimes with 90833 if combined with therapy)

  • Which form do I use to submit my Superbill?
